{"id":2211,"date":"2011-07-23T18:26:07","date_gmt":"2011-07-23T17:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2211"},"modified":"2011-07-26T18:29:20","modified_gmt":"2011-07-26T17:29:20","slug":"legendary-vulcan-to-make-a-double-display-at-bournemouth-air-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2211","title":{"rendered":"Legendary Vulcan to make a double display at Bournemouth Air Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/vulcan.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/vulcan.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"vulcan\" width=\"620\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2212\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/vulcan.jpg 636w, http:\/\/www.benmgiles.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/vulcan-300x181.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>CROWDS at next month\u2019s Bournemouth Air Festival are in for a double Vulcan Effect.<\/p>\n<p>Organisers have confirmed that, thanks to two sponsorship deals, the legendary Cold War bomber will now display twice at the event, being held between August 18 and 21.<\/p>\n<p>S&#038;D Leisure will sponsor the Saturday display, while Bournemouth Airport will back the Sunday flight.<\/p>\n<p>The Vulcan is operated by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust and relies on private cash to keep it in the air \u2013 it took 10 years and \u00a37 million before she could take to the skies once more in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>CEO of the trust, Dr Robert Pleming, said: \u201cWe have always said that Bournemouth is a real highlight for us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe flight path along the beach is glorious, the huge crowds very enthusiastic and the reception to the Vulcan is always extremely warm, so we\u2019re very grateful to S&#038;D Leisure for allowing us to extend the Vulcan effect to a second display.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stanley Reeves, owner of S&#038;D Leisure, said: \u201cWe\u2019re proud to support the Vulcan display on Saturday where she\u2019ll be joining the Red Arrows and Tornado Role Demo for what I\u2019m sure will be another great festival \u2018power hour\u2019. It\u2019s certainly going to get loud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jon Weaver, air festival director, added: \u201cWhat a great addition to an already great flying programme.
