Virgin trials 200Mb connections in Kent

Virgin Media has started trialling 200Mb broadband in Ashford, Kent.

The pilot was launched last week to 100 trial participants who will be giving feedback to Virgin Media on their use of the increase speed. The ISP will be using their connections to trial high definition and 3D television streams as well as allowing multiple rooms to video conference at the same time. Home security cameras will also be rigged up to the connection to see how well remote monitoring could work.

Saw the Ferrari F1 car this weekend in London on the Saturday before the London marathon which my friend was running. Here are some photos, as well there are some photos on the river when I walked back to where I was staying over the weekend, it was just getting dark and I thought it looked a nice scene/nice colours.

Adobe Flash secures set-top deal

Adobe has secured a deal to put its Flash software into many of the chips that go inside TVs and set-top boxes.

It will enable developers and content providers to create applications to deliver web-based content such as news, weather, share prices  and more to TV screens. The first applications using Flash are expected to hit TV sets early in 2010.
